Kaila Devi Sanctuary

Kaila Devi National Park is named locally after the famous Kaila Devi Temple it is situated 25 Km from Karauli city. The park is part of the project tiger and it’s a buffer zone to Ranthambore National park. The typical feature of the sanctuary is its numerous Khos or deep gorges. These are often several hundred feet deep. Inside the Khos the vegetation is rich and dense and it provides shelter for the wildlife. The Banas river touches the western tip of the sanctuary, while the Chambal river flows along the south to east, forming a natural boundary. Among mammals chickaree, wild boar, and jackal can be seen very commonly in morning and late afternoon. Leopard, sloth bear, hyena, wolf and sambhar sightings can also be seen and of course the tiger can be sighted here. A tiger sighting is not so likely because the vegetation provides an ideal hiding place for its secretive existence. Enjoy a jeep safari to the sanctuary Kaila Devi National park and visit the villages inside the sanctuary .On the way Visit the Kaila Devi goddess temple and see the 200 bed hospital run by the temple trust.
