There is a lot to see when visiting Junagarh Fort. There are many well preserved Halls and Palaces because it is a Fort that was never conquered and therefore in an excellent state of preservation. Start your tour at the main entrance of the fort called Suraj pol or sun gate. The fort encompasses many palaces amongst which the most spectacular ones are the Chandra Mahal or Moon palace, the Phool Mahal or Flower palace, both decorated with carved panels and mirrors. The Karan Mahal was built in remembrance of the celebration of the grand victory over Aurangzeb. Durga Niwas now houses the Fort Museum with some fascinating exhibits.

Visit the Old City and the old havelis of which the most ornate are the Rampuria and Kothari Havelis. Finish your day by visiting the old markets near Kote Gate
