These are five monolithic temples, each created in a different style named after the five Pandava Brothers, the heroes of epic Mahabharata. They are also known as the pancha pandava rathas. Four of the rathas are believed to have been scooped out of a single rock formation.
Each temple represents different style of architecture and looks like a chariot. The architecture of these Rathas reminds one of about the ancient Dravidian temples.
